Ring for the King
Thank you to everyone who came along to St Andrew’s church on Sunday morning May 7th 2023 to ring a bell in celebration of the coronation of Charles III.
As a foot note. One of the bells used on Sunday morning was cast in 1670 to celebrate the reign of Charles II and with his reign the restoration of the monarchy.
And the inscription on the bell?
GOD SAVE THE KING
Chiming a church bell is the simplest way to make a bell sound and we offered the chance to anyone to come along and perhaps do something a little different to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III. No previous experience was needed as help and guidance was available on the day.
